Audio Kit 2.0 release includes audio sweep generator
Audio Kit 2.0 release from Sinusoid includes audio sweep generator as an in-app purchase. The sweep generator allows sweep or chirp of audio frequencies in either increasing or decreasing direction. Length of sweep can be specified up to 20 seconds, and down to very short intervals. Sweep output can be either linear of exponential.Sonocord - Audio sonogram App for iOS from Sinusoid
Sonocord is a tool which can record short audio tracks, edit them, and display the sonogram of the audio.
It is an invaluable tool for those investigating bird calls and bird song, whether in the field, at home, or in the lab.
- Produce an audio sonogram of tracks up to 10 seconds in length
- Record new tracks up to 10 seconds long, including a 2 second pre-record arm feature
- Import short audio tracks to be displayed as a sonogram
- Storage of multiple tracks for sonogram display, playing and editing.
- Simple edit of both recorded and imported audio tracks by trimming tracks.
- Play both recorded and imported audio tracks
- A location is recorded where available on a device, and a map view will display the location of the recording if available
New Audio Kit demonstration video
Dailyappshow have just shot a video demonstrating the features of Sinusoid’s Audio Kit app for iOS devices.
See it on the Dailyappshow website or on Youtube.
Audio Kit is now at release version 1.5
The App includes the following tools:
- A real time Spectrum Analyser
- Scope – an oscilloscope to display waveforms
- an SPL (sound pressure level) Meter
- and a sine wave Signal Generator
AKLite Initial release
Sinusoid Pty Ltd announces the initial release of AKLite iPhone App .
AKLite is a real time spectrum analyzer. It is a lite version of the Spectrum part of Audio Kit iPhone App, also by Sinusoid Pty Ltd.
As an introduction to the Audio Kit App, AKLite is free of charge.
FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) is used to calculate the frequencies in the Spectrum Analyser and these are displayed in real time. The frequency is displayed in either logarithmic or linear scale.
The area under the line trace can be optionally filled or left blank.
The FFT length used in AKLite is 2048, giving good resolution of frequencies. Interpolation gives resolution to within 1Hz.
A Bartlett FFT window type is used for calculations and there are 3 FFT windows used.
Sinusoid Apps now back on iTunes Store
All Sinusoid iPhone Apps are now back on the iTunes App Store now.
After a few days away from the store due to circumstances beyond our control, the following three Sinusoid iPhone/iOS Apps are again available on the iTunes Store:
Audio Kit
is a collection of four tools which are essential for those working in audio, sound and music; A real time Spectrum Analyzer, a Scope to display waveforms, an SPL Meter, and a Signal Generator producing sine waves, white noise and pink noise. Users can view a real time spectrum of audio, identifying peak frequencies, as well as view the actual waveform of the audio signal and much more.

iPhone Audio Kit update 1.3
The Audio Kit iPhone App from Sinusoid Pty Ltd has a new release, version 1.3.
The first version 1.0 included the following applications:
- A real time Spectrum Analyser
- an SPL (sound pressure level) Meter
- and a sine wave Signal Generator
<liScope – an oscilloscope to display waveforms
Since the first release the following features have been added:
- Signal Generator now includes white noise and pink noise signal types, in addition to the existing sine wave signal.
- Spectrum display has 6 selectable FFT window function types – Hamming, Hann, Rectangular, Bartlett, Triangular and Blackman.
- Spectrum now has selectable FFT sizes of 8192, 4096 and 2048, giving much better resolution of frequencies.
- Persistent settings for all user preferences.
All of the user preferences in each of the above applications can be made persistent between restarts of the App. - Large number display of strongest frequency in Spectrum display. This is in addition to the small moving text above the peak, and can be quickly turned on or off.
Common uses for this App include:
- checking for feedback frequencies when setting up PA systems
- an inexpensive oscilloscope to view audio waveforms
- measuring sound pressure levels
- providing audio test signals
